NeuroSupport: Unlocking Comfort with ESA Letters

Unlocking Comfort with ESA Letters, Because Your Furry Friend Can Be Your ADHD Ally

  • Pets offer more than just companionship. For individuals with ADHD, they can be a vital source of calm, structure, and emotional support. Studies show that interacting with animals can:

    • Reduce anxiety and stress: The unconditional love and presence of a pet can help manage symptoms of anxiety, a common co-occurrence with ADHD.
    • Improve focus and attention: Caring for a pet can provide a sense of responsibility and routine, promoting focus and concentration.
    • Increase physical activity: Playing with and walking your pet encourages regular exercise, boosting mood and overall well-being.

Finding a home that welcomes your pet can feel impossible, adding additional stress to an already challenging situation.

I believe everyone deserves the comfort and support of a pet, especially those navigating ADHD.

How I can Help:

  • Qualified Evaluations:  I will assess your needs and determine if an ESA could benefit your ADHD symptoms.  This evaluation will explore your mental health history and how your pet helps you manage daily challenges.
  • Tailored Guidance: We’ll work together to understand how your pet specifically provides emotional support for your ADHD. This might include discussing how your furry friend helps you de-stress after a long day, reminds you to take medication, or provides a comforting presence during periods of overwhelm.
  • Legally Sound ESA Letters for ADHD:  If you meet the criteria, I can provide a valid ESA letter outlining the therapeutic benefit your pet offers specifically for managing ADHD.  These letters are written on official letterhead and comply with Fair Housing Act (FHA) regulations, increasing your chances of finding a pet-friendly home that understands your needs.
  •

While online services exist, choosing a therapist offers several advantages:

  • ADHD Expertise: I’m well-versed in the specific ways pets can benefit individuals with ADHD.  This ensures your letter accurately reflects the unique therapeutic role your pet plays in your life.
  • Building a Therapeutic Relationship:   An ESA letter requires a documented therapist-client relationship. A diagnosis.  Documentation of how your pet contributes to managing your symptoms as well as speaks to the appropriateness of your pets behaviors (i.e. their temperament and ensure they are well-suited for an ESA role).

Assessing Suitability:  You and your pet should expect to attend all sessions. Assessments take on average six 30 minute sessions.
